Lendmark partnered with CURE Childhood Cancer during 2nd Annual Climb To A Million fundraising event.
Lawrenceville, GA: On Saturday, August 5, 2017 at the Oconee County High School Football Stadium, Lendmark Financial Services, corporate partners and volunteers raised over $505,000 for CURE Childhood Cancer during the 2nd Annual Climb To A Million fundraising event. 100% of the proceeds donated went directly to CURE. Through its partnership with Atlanta-based CURE Childhood Cancer, Lendmark’s 1,500 employees across the country raised money and hosted their own events in order to help meet The Climb’s goals of $500,000 and 5 million steps. There were over 300 participants in attendance during the event including cancer survivors who came out to show their support and share their stories. “I want to personally thank everyone who participated in any way for our 2nd Annual Climb To A Million,” said Bobby Aiken, CEO of Lendmark. “As of this morning, we raised over $505,000 and spread awareness of the challenges of pediatric cancer from coast to coast. Right now, there are literally thousands of people who know more about childhood cancer than there was a year ago, solely because of the employees at Lendmark and our quest for The Climb!” Lendmark was able to help provide funding towards CURE’s $6 million gift commitment to support the development of the new Aflac Cancer Center Precision Medicine Program, the Aflac Cancer Center Fellowship Program and 10 childhood cancer research projects. $4.5 million will go to the development of the Precision Medicine Program, which will provide personalized cancer therapies for children with the highest risk tumors.
